One True God

I've been hearing a new song on the radio, and I just love it. I'd add it to my playlist, but it's not available yet! But "yay" for Youtube; I can always find what I need on there. It's really a beautiful song and such a humbling reminder of what an awesome God we have.

(Turn on your speakers and hit the play button below)

I don't have a God I can put on a stand
Or a God I hold in the palm of my hand
I have a God that's holding me
And I don't have a God that I can create
In the place I live with the money I make
I have a God, He made everything
So I don't need a temporary man-made deity
When I got the real thing
I got the real thing

He's the Lord of all the earth
The maker of all things
He alone is the one true God
Kingdoms rise and fall
But even through it all
He remains
The one true God

I don't have a thing that I got on my own
I don't have a care that I carry alone
But I have a God who's carrying me
I don't have sin that He doesn't forgive
And I don't have a heart that is worthy of His
But I have a God who still loves me
So I don't need a temporary man made deity
When I got the real thing
I got the real thing

Who is this King of Glory
The Lord strong and mighty
Who is this King of Glory
The Lord strong and mighty
Who is this King of Glory
Who is this King of Glory

Turn On Your Speakers!

Cheryl has a play list on her blog! Scroll on down to the bottom of the page if you want to change the song or see what I've got on there (subject to change when I get more time to fiddle around with it!)

I guess I'm like most people in that some music speaks to me, some doesn't. One song that I love is by Fleetwood Mac. I've known this song for a couple decades, and it wasn't until I was listening to it recently that it took on a new meaning for me. Water is used in a symbolic way in the Bible, and it dawned on me that this secular song speaks to me in a religious way. And while it may not speak to you in the same way, it still remains a beautiful song. So flip on your speakers and give it a listen.

Crystal
Written by Stevie Nicks.

Do you always trust your first initial feeling
Special knowledge holds true, bears believing

I turned around
And the water was closing all around like a glove
Like the love that had finally, finally found me
Then I knew in the crystaline knowledge of you
Drove me through the mountain
Through the crystal-like and clear water fountain
Drove me like a magnet
To the sea
To the sea
To the sea, yeah

How the faces of love have changed, turning the pages
And I have changed, oh, but you, you remain ageless

I turned around
And the water was closing all around like a glove
Like the love that had finally, finally found me
Then I knew in the crystaline knowledge of you
Drove me through the mountain
Through the crystal-like and clear water fountain
Drove me like a magnet
To the sea
To the sea
